*The following is a very official looking document posted in every refugee camp and in the tavern in Badril's Rest. It bears the seals of House Carr, The Order of the Golden Flame, The Royal Arcanum, and the Order of Light.*

To one and all,

Citizens of Badril's Rest and the lands of my House, I bid you thanks for your continuing efforts to tame this harsh land in the name of His Majesty King Alexander Phedron. Your valiant efforts have not gone without notice. Such valor and honor must be acknowledged, and what better way than by a celebration of the skills and virtues which has called so many of you to the North!

By my hand, as Lord Viscount of House Carr and rightful governor of all land beholden to my House, I decree that the fourth weekend of the eighth month shall be host to a Grand Tournament, hosted by my son Sir Antonin Carr and by representatives of the Royal Guilds. Further more, I make this Tournament open to all those of People Race, be they Caldarian Citizen, or natives of the North. From the Great Barrier to Veiled Forest I invite one and all to come together for honor and valor in this Grand Tournament. Come one and all!

By my hand, I make this decree.
Lord Viscount Sir Aurelius Carr

OOG: These are found posted all over

Royal Tournament!
To be held in Badril's Rest, hosted by House Carr.

Tournament Rules Listed below.

The tournament will be run by a Tournament organizer, who can serve as a judge for all events. Each event will have up to three judges. The event Judges have final say over all disputes, and rules questions or problems that may arise throughout the course of their event. All three judges must be in agreement, in the case that an agreement cannot be made, The sponsoring noble has final say. The tournament organizer will have final say over all disputes, and rules questions or problems that arise for the tournament as a whole.

All events will be worth an equal number of tournament points, all teams must be registered with the tournament organizer before the start of the first event. NO alterations to team rosters will be allowed once the first event has begun. Teams may have up to 6 members, no individual may compete for more than one team.

The individual that wins first place in each event will recieve a prize for that event. Each Team will earn Tournament points based off the placement of all their competitors in any given event. For example, Event 1 has a total of 8 teams, with 16 competitors (2 entrants/Team). Team A finishes the event with 1st place and 16th place. which earns them 4 Event points, and the 1st place Event prize (as their single team member finished in 1st place). Team B finishes the event with 2nd and 3rd place, earning them 5 event points. Team B finishs in first place for the event and earns the tournament points for 1st place, with Team A finishing in second place for the event and earning tournament points for 2nd place.

All events will award tournament points on the following scale, 1st Place = 5 Points, 2nd Place = 4 points, 3rd place = 3 Points, 4th place = 2 points, 5th Place = 1 Point, 6th Place and lower = 0 points.

Cheating in any given event disqualifies the team from that event, and two such disqualifications disqualifies the team from the entire tournament. Points will not be recalculated.

Ladder style events are single elimination, with the winner moving on to the next round.

Events and rules for each individual event are as follows.

General Tournament Rules
Arrow Spirit linked weapons - may be used in competitions with the following restrictions, if 'shattered' the weapon is unusable to any combatant for the duration of the current fight. If Disarmed, the combatant must simulate retrieving the weapon from the ground in the approximate location it would have been dropped.
Arrow Weapon Auras - Are not allowed in any competition. A weapon with such an aura may be used, but the aura must be pulled, and is subject to the same shatter/disarm rules as a spirit linked weapon. The channeling of such an aura will cause an immediate halt to the current fight, and the offending party will receive a retributive strike of equal strength to the offending blow, plus one penalty strike from the opponent targeted by the offending blow. The retributive strike may not be avoided or prevented in any way. The penalty strike may not be blocked and must land, but may be prevented or avoided by skills mastered by the target, but not turned back on the attacker. (OOG: Evade, parry, and dodge are valid).

To clarify: The Blind Archery competition specifies the entrant can wield either bow or crossbow, but the Archers Competition specifies just bow. Was this an error, or are crossbow-wielding archers excluded?

With all due respect, are the prizes for various competitions and the grand prizes going to be listed before the tournament as well?

Are wands considered weapons, and thus barred from the mage's melee?

Cross bows are allowed in all archery competitions.

Thrown weapons are not, but I can see fit to alter that rule for blind archery if enough people entering want to do so to widen the competition field.

The full list of prizes will be available soon, the main tournament prize pool will be as follows.

Official list of Prizes

Arrow Heart of a Pheonix
Arrow Regenerate Ritual Scroll
Arrow Enhance Wand on wand of choice
Arrow Greater Wand on wand of choice
Arrow Damage Aura on weapon of choice
Arrow Earth Aura on Weapon of Choice

-Wizard Justin Weaver
